Microsoft is the owner of LinkedIn. In order to launch a new verification program, it is collaborating with the secure identity platform Clear.

A verification mark will appear next to your name once you've presented identification proof, such as a government-issued ID.

They'll look exactly like the ones you see on Twitter... but you won't have to pay for them.

The initiative will begin with a test group in the United States. And we anticipate a bigger deployment in the near future.
