Hi Small Business Owners, welcome to this edition of "Lies they Believe", and "The Truths, I Know"

In this video we'll uncover another common cybersecurity misconception I hear when I speak to Small Business Owners.

Number 6 : “Darryl - We have everything in the cloud, so we are safe."

But you see, that just isn't the truth.  The TRUTH IS, your data in the cloud is only as safe as the devices YOU use to connect to it, and the security controls your cloud provider has in place.

Moreover, it's crucial to understand that prominent cloud providers, including Microsoft, state clearly their responsibility is limited to the delivery of services, and the maintenance of cloud infrastructure.

They explicitly exclude any direct responsibility for your data.

You see, inadequate security on devices, email, and even the cloud provider, are all contributing factors I see in nearly every cloud data breach.

This is why properly securing your devices AND having a backup of your cloud data is just as important in the cloud, as it is with local infrastructure in your office.
